Rural and Tribal Communities are often underserved and under resourced. In this presentation you will hear about lessons learned and obstacles overcome in this important and valuable work of how this CTC Coalition in Eagle Butte, South Dakota has leveraged these obstacles to create a thriving youth serving coalition.
OBJECTIVES
Participants will be able to:
- Participants will learn about challenges of installing and implementing the Communities That Care framework in a rural community.
- Participants will be introduced to strategies for engaging local strengths to build a successful Communities That Care effort in a rural community.
- Participants will be provided examples of various approaches used to establish an engaged and evolving Communities that Care process in a rural community.
FACILITATORS
Jaylynn Farlee is a passionate advocate and leader, serving as the Director of the Keya Foundation Inc. and the Coordinator of their Communities That Cares Coalition. These two organizations are instrumental in providing support and resources to the members of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe community. Through her dedication and commitment, Jaylynn works to uplift and empower individuals, fostering a stronger, more resilient community for generations to come.
