This live, virtual training series is designed for identified Communities That Care Facilitators (i.e., sometimes called CTC Coordinators or CTC Mobilizers) who will guide their local community through the five-phases of the CTC process.

Training Information

The training is held over a 3-week period and is interactive. It is delivered in a series of 2-hour modules: one module takes place the prior to the main training week, and a final 2-hour module is scheduled during the third week. During the main week of training, participants will be in a virtual classroom for two, 2-hour modules on most days and will have work to do individually when they are not logged on.

This training experience includes presentations, breakout room conversations, large group discussions, and a small group assignment where participants will be required to coordinate a meeting for their team (outside of the whole group classroom time). To participate fully, trainees are required to access to the internet via a computer/Laptop (not a mobile device or tablet) with a camera and microphone.

Training Objectives

As a result of participating in this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the CTC process and its scientific foundation
  2. Describe the role of the CTC Plus Facilitator
  3. Understand and be able to apply the effective teaching methods with adult audiences used in Communities That Care
  4. Demonstrate ability to facilitate CTC Plus web-based workshops, using facilitator guides and on-line web presentations
  5. Describe CTC Plus, the content of all the workshops and how they fit together to support CTC implementation
  6. Understand how to use the Milestones and Benchmarks to track progress
  7. Be able to respond to hard questions about CTC and the CTC process
  8. Assess and practice process skills used by CTC Facilitators
  9. Plan next steps for CTC in their community

The CTC Training of Facilitators is designed to jumpstart the local implementation of CTC. After completing the training, CTC Facilitators should expect to continue implementation support with a certified CTC Coach or CTC Specialist.
