What is it and why now?
A Community Impact Statement is a short, compelling argument of why your efforts matter. Ideally, it is blend of heart-felt stories and clear data that reflect the changes that have occurred as a result of your efforts. It also points out the direction for the future and why your work will matter going forward.
Now more than ever we need effective prevention strategies as communities face ongoing impacts on well-being. The current threat to prevention programming dollars is real, and policy makers are having to make hard decisions given the economic realities of our current times. They need good information about why what we do is important as they make these decisions. CTC Coalitions are—by design— big, bold, daring advocates for prevention! If we do not speak up loudly and clearly, our communities may lose the chance to do so.
Join the Center for CTC for a discussion of how to craft a Community Impact Statement and to explore ideas for using it once you have it finished.
If you have ideas or requests for future topics, please let us know by sending an email to the Center for CTC. This group offers CTC Coordinators/Facilitators a chance to share challenges and successes related to these shared experiences, so that all may learn and support one another. Zoom Video Conference is used to share documents and other visual information as participants talk. Calls are facilitated by experienced CTC Coordinators, or CTC Specialists from the Center for Communities That Care.
Future CTC Webinars (11:00 – 12:30 PT):
August 6th
September 9th
October 8th
If you are a CTC coordinator/facilitator and want to be included on the invite list, email Maddy Furlong.
